India vs Australia 256/9: Hosts Dominate Day 1 Of 1st Test Against Australia In Pune

India Vs Australia day 1 of 1st test at Pune.

Before Australia came to India, cricket pundits warned the visiting team to be aware of Indian spinners, who are tough to face on sub-continent pitches. But, coming underdog in the match, Umesh Yadav contributed more than expected from him and took 4 wickets on the first day of first test against Australia in Pune and lead the bowlers chart for the day.

David Warner and Matt Renshaw who opened the innings for Australia, faced the Indian spinners well and went wicket less for lunch. Right After lunch, Warner gave away his wicket to Umesh Yadav in a pretty easy delivery and opened the wicket count.

Matt Renshaw who retires ill (citing stomach upset) as soon as D. Warner got out came back to bat after loosing his captain and Sr. Marsh and scored a half century in his very first match in India.

With R. Jadeja and Ashwin pegging back the Aussies, Jayant Yadav managed to get a wicket and then came the back-to-back wicket taking deliveries from Umesh Yadav where he got Steve and Nathan Lyon and later missed out on a hat-trick.

Then was Australia’s score 2015/9. Mitchell Starc, who was joined by Josh Hazlewood and scored the scored the second maximum of the innings after Renshaw. When Kohli and team just though it was matter of deliveries, Starc proved them wrong and scored half century and took his team past 250.

At the end of the day 1, Australia scored 256 for the loss of nine wickets. Starc and Hazlewood remain not out at the end of the play.

With hosting their first test match, Pune’s Maharahtra Cricket Stadium became the 25th Test Venue in India.
